I was stoked up, howling', for a rack of ribs tonight
Across the street is the China Star
They don't even have a bar
I hid my car around the corner
Kept my head down and ducked inside

I'm a whiskey drinkin', American thinkin' guy
With a belly growling, pushing me to give something new a try

"I help you, Sir?", sounded like a song
She caught me staring at her way too long 
What was wrong with this picture?
I was in it, but it sure felt right
Forgot all about the bar-b-que
Fell in her smile and I lost my cool
But found my fortune cookie 
And candy for my eyes

I'm whiskey drinkin', American thinkin' guy
With a belly growling, pushing me to give something new a try
Thanking heaven for the sign on my favorite bar
That led me cross the street to the China Star

Two years later, she's smokin' ribs
I'm steamin' rice, changin' bibs
And built a crib
